VSPARS Real-time

VSPARS real-time provides the ultimate in sail shape recognition technology. Thanks to the wide angle lenses and individual calibration and perspective correction algorithms, even downwind sail shape can be accurately determined and ouput in 3D coordinates relative to the boat datum.

VSPARS Olympic

This is our small boat system. Off-the-shelf waterproof digital cameras are mounted on the deck and set to fire off at regular intervals. A camera such as the Pentax WG-1 is used for the mainsail, while the GoPro HD Hero with it's wide angle lens is usually used for the Jib and Flying sails . At the end of the day, the pictures are downloaded and processed in batch mode through the VSPARS Olympic software. The picture time stamps are used to correlate with any logged variables (from Pi, etc).

VSPARS Handheld

Bored with manually digitising sail shapes? Want a better way of analysing the data? VSPARS Handheld will load any sail stripe picture and find the stripes with a minimum of effort, outputting the draft, camber, entry, exit, etc. of each stripe. Boat variables can be saved with this data (ie. AWS, TWA, etc) for searching and filtering later on by the VSPARS database.
